ROUGHLY sketch: rough or unfinished drawing or painting. doodle: a rough drawing made absentmindedly. draft: preliminary version of a piece of writing. Rough drawing.

BOOK OR ARTICLE compile: to make a list, or a document, book etc that contains lists of information. compose: to write a poem, letter, or song.

CARELESSLY scrawl: to write in a careless untidy way making it difficult to read. scribble: to write quickly and carelessly esp. because you don’t have much time.

DOWN jot down: to write hurriedly. note down: to write down notes. write down: to write sth so you will not forget about it. get down: write down what sb says.

COMPLETELY write out: a list / a cheque / a form completely with all the necessary information. write up: bring to public notice by writing, with praise or condemnation. Put into writing; write in complete form.
