Say and Tell
You say something.
We use SAY right before the information.
She said she wanted to come.
He said that he expect to see you.
Messi said he was tired.
You tell somebody something.
We use TELL before the person who receives the information.
I told you that I was tired.
Mom told me to clean my room.
I told my mum I did not want to clean my room.
NOT: I said my mum I didn't want to do it.
